Athlete Development
How we support athletes from their first session through to competitive training at Sikri Sports Academy in Oyugis, Homa Bay County.
Our Approach
Athlete development at Sikri Sports Academy starts with the fundamentals — movement, coordination and confidence — before building toward sport-specific technique and, for those who want it, competitive training.
Coaches work with athletes individually within group sessions, adjusting the pace of training to each person's current ability rather than pushing everyone through a single fixed programme.
Grassroots to Competitive
Every sport at the academy follows the same broad pathway: technique fundamentals, structured practice, then match or competition exposure as athletes are ready for it. See how this plays out in each programme on our sports pages.
Holistic Development
Alongside physical training, we focus on discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship — the habits that carry over from sport into school and everyday life.
Holiday Camps & Trials
Training continues during the April, August and December school holidays through short-term holiday camps, giving athletes a chance to keep developing outside term time — see our news page for upcoming camp dates. We also hold trial sessions for athletes looking to join a sport or step up to a more competitive group. Trial dates vary by sport and intake, so get in touch via our contact page to ask about the next one.
